Infrastructure Engineer (experienced)

Job Description:

Midas Technologies is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to join our team and help build, maintain, and support our low-latency trading infrastructure. This role will play a key role in ensuring that our trading systems are reliable, scalable, and secure, and will work closely with other teams to implement new systems and technologies as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain the firm’s low-latency trading infrastructure, including hardware, software, and networking components
• Work with trading teams to understand their requirements and provide technical solutions to meet their needs
• Monitor and optimize system performance to ensure that trading systems are running at optimal levels
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise, and provide support as needed
• Adopt an automated, data-driven approach to diagnose and resolve complex network infrastructure issues, such as micro-bursting, jitter, and queuing
• Collaborate with other teams, including Research, Development, and Trading, to ensure that systems are secure and compliant with industry standards and best practices
• Continuously evaluate and implement new technologies and tools to improve the firm’s trading infrastructure

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• 2-5 years of experience as an Infrastructure Engineer or a similar role, preferably with a focus on low-latency trading infrastructure
• Proficiency in Unix/Linux operating systems and scripting languages such as Python, Bash, and Perl
• Understanding of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN
• Ability to learn and work with virtualization technologies, such as VMware and KVM
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
• Experience working with automation tools (e.g., Ansible)
• A team player with a positive attitude and the ability to work well with others
• Fluency in English
